    Teaching and Leadership Opportunities
    Adat Shalom, a Conservative synagogue in suburban Pittsburgh, seeks instructors for its religious school (Tuesdays 4:15-6:15pm fourth grade, Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm ninth grade), and also a youth advisor for a high school age youth group. For more info contact Yaier.

We join with you in the continuing pursuit of opportunities for peace and security for Israel and its neighbors.

    Tuesday, October 31 Join the Jewish Studies Program, Asian Studies Center, and the Film Studies Program at Pitt as they bring you The Journey of Vaan Nguyen, with a special appearance by the film's Israeli director, Duki Dror. Dror explores the experiences of a Vietnamese family that found refuge in Israel after the fall of Saigon and the family's recent efforts to return to its homeland. 4pm in Cathedral of Learning G13.     Klezmer Comes to Campus

    Klezmer has enjoyed a successful revival in recent years, especially among respected indie bands and labels (Constellation, JDub, etc.). Last month, almost 300 of you danced your tukhes off to Golem. Now, a CMU freshman wants to start a new klezmer band with students across campuses. Carpe diem! Seize the day!     Cool Space Locator seeks an intern ($10/hour) November 2006-May 2007 to take the lead in helping staff plan and organize Cool Space Awards 2007.     JEVS Internship - Summer 2007 JEVS (Jewish Employment and Vocational Service) awards a limited number of stipends to Jewish university students who expect to reside in the Delaware Valley in June-August 2007.     Need-based Scholarships for 2007-08 The Central Scholarship and Loan Referral Service (CSLRS) of the United Jewish Federation (UJF) of Greater Pittsburgh offers need-based grants to Jewish students (undergrad and grad) who have been residents of Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Washington, or Westmoreland Counties for at least two years. Applications will be available in November, with an application deadline of February 6, 2007.
