    Temple Sinai, a Reform synagogue in Squirrel Hill, is looking for an experienced song leader, preferably with guitar skills, and people interested in teaching Sunday school K-7 and Hebrew. For more info contact Debbie.

    The new year has begun and Yom Kippur has passed. Sukkot arrives this week, with decorations and parties at Pitt and CMU...so come celebrate with us, and bring a friend or two!

    Other events this week include a meeting to discuss Shabbat dinners and a FREE ticket to Israel, Israeli rock band Jet Sam in 'Da Burgh, tabling for Darfur, Sukkot Shabbat services and free dinner (beginning one hour earlier), and Israeli visitors at the CMU FYSH Bagel Brunch.

    Sunday, October 8th Reeling in all FYSH (First Year Students of Hillel) for a fabulous brunch of bagels, cream cheese, and lox. Three visitors from Israel @ Heart, all in their 20s, will be special guests at the brunch. One immigrated from Ethiopia, another served in the IDF Spokesperson Unit during the recent war with Lebanon, and the third is an internet entrepreneur. 12pm @ UC Danforth.     Programing Up @ Pitt

    Thursday, October 5th Come do a mitzvah for the holiday and help set up the sukkah. Meet 10am @ The Hillel JUC to pick up supplies for campus and walk over to Pitt to set up the sukkah. Not a morning person? Come to the NAKED Sukkah Party at 4pm and help decorate the Sukkah. For more info contact Jackie.


    Winter in Israel for ONLY $180 - Choose Your Track!

    Hillel International is delighted to offer its premier Winter Israel Experiences this December and January. This season, Hillel is sending three exciting tracks, and each will last approximately 10 days and cost $180 per student. While requirements for each track vary, all participants must have had prior Israel experience.

    The track dates are:
    Jewish Pluralism and Peoplehood: December 26th-January 4th
    Green: Israel and Global Environmentalism: December 25th-January 3rd
    Leading Up North - Tzedek (Social Justice): December 25th-January 4th or January 1st-11th

    Tuesday, October 31st Join the Jewish Studies Program and the Film Studies Department at Pitt as they bring you The Journey of Vaan Nguyen, with a special appearance by the film's Israeli director, Duki Dror. Dror explores the experiences of a Vietnamese family that found refuge in Israel after the fall of Saigon and the family's recent efforts to return to its homeland. 4pm in Cathedral of Learning G13.
