Social Action Committee
The social action committee does a lot of amazing things to volunteer in the community and raise awareness about different issues at the University of Pittsburgh. Just this past year, our committee organized a University-wide screening of a documentary about recent anti-semitism in Europe called "The Monster Among Us" and brought the director to our campus to speak about the issues brought up in his film. We also encouraged students to donate and gather funds which were sent towards relief in Haiti after being hit by the earthquake. The committee has also always had a strong relationship with the Squirrel Hill Food Pantry and the I-Volunteer group in Squirrel Hill in which we volunteer with regularly. Whether it's during one of our committee activities, during a committee meeting, or at other Hillel events, we always have fun together while lending a helpful hand. Please contact Mike maz27@pitt.edu for more information or to join the committee!

Jewish Life Committee
The goal of the Jewish Life committee is to empower students and strengthen community on campus. We are prepared to address students' myriad concerns, from keeping kosher to opposing anti-Semitism. In addition to planning programs and activities for holidays, we look for ways to make daily Jewish living more fulfilling. We are interested in Jewish educational opportunities and community-building; we encourage students make the most of Pittsburgh's tremendous resources. Our goal is to help students incorporate Jewish values into college life, while creating a supportive, dynamic community.
